Biography

2022: Had a tremendous season for the Golden Eagles in her final year with the program. Won a California Collegiate Athletic Association championship in the triple jump with a mark of 39-9.25 that was an NCAA Division II provisional qualifying mark and No. 8 on Cal State LA’s all-time list. Won the event on her final attempt. Also placed fourth in the high jump at the conference championships with a mark of 5-1.75. Earned All-West Region honors in the triple jump. Also had a best marks of 13.16 in the 100, 5-3 in the high jump and 17-6.25 in the long jump. Also had a strong indoor season and had a best mark of 5-4.25 in the high jump that is No. 4 all-time at Cal State LA, 8.34 in the 60 and 37-3 in the triple jump. For her career, had best marks of 13.09 in the 100, 5-5.25 in the high jump, 17-6.25 in the long jump and 39-9.25 in the triple jump in outdoor track and 8.18 in the 60, 5-4.25 in the high jump, 15-6.25 in the long jump and 38-1.25 in the triple jump in indoor track. Finished her career No. 8 all-time in the outdoor triple jump, No. 3 all-time in the indoor high jump and No. 5 all-time in the indoor triple jump.

2021: Was on the roster, but team did not compete due to COVID-19.

2020: Was having a second sensational year for the Golden Eagles before the outdoor season was halted. Had best early-season marks of 5-3 in the high jump and 38-1.50 in the triple jump. Earned California Collegiate Athletic Association “All-Star” recognition. Was third in the nation in the triple jump and 10th in the high jump when the season ended. Also competed well during the indoor season. Had best marks of 8.30 in the 60 meters, 5-3.25 in the high jump and 38-1.25 in the triple jump.

2019: Had an outstanding first season with the Cal State LA track and field program. Placed in a pair of events at the CCAA Championships. Finished sixth in the triple jump and seventh in the high jump. Had best marks of 5-5.25 in the high jump, 38-5.50 in the triple jump and 13.09 in the 100. Also competed with the Golden Eagles’ indoor track and field team and had best marks of 5-3 in the high jump, 15-6.75 in the long jump, 37-1.75 in the triple jump and 8.18 in the 60 meters. Earned a CCAA All-Academic Award.

At Riverside City College: Team won two Orange Coast Conference championships and took third in the state. Won the conference title in the high jump. Had a best mark of 5-3 in that event. Also had best marks of 35-3 in the triple jump and 13.43 in the 100.

At Redlands High School: Was on a track and field team that won three Citrus Belt League titles. Was a three-time Most Improved Player in basketball and a four-time Scholar-Athlete in both track and field and basketball.

Personal: Daughter of Errol McDermott and Dianna Gladstone. Majoring in applied mathematics. Enjoys reading, writing, singing, dancing and drawing. Lists her first indoor track and field meet as her most exciting experience in sports. Notes she was born in New York and moved to California when she was young, but says she’ll never forget where she came from.
