TURLOCK -- Cal State LA's men's track and field team finished fourth Saturday with a strong team showing at the Kim Duyst Invitational at Stanislaus State.

The Golden Eagles scored 68 points to finish an impressive fourth behind Chico State, Fresno Pacific and Fresno State in competition at the Al Brenda Track. The Golden Eagles got a victory in the 4x100 relay to highlight the day.

The team of Shingirai Hlanguyo, Darnelle Harris, Clifton Johnson and Leon Tafirenyika covered the race in 41.80 to post the win.

The Golden Eagles also earned second-place finishes in four other events. Sean Atkins was second in the triple jump with a mark of 43-11.25, Xavier Williams was second in the 110 high hurdles in 14.77 and second in the 400 hurdles in 55.62, Harris was second in the 100 with a time of 10.81.

Myles Molette-Hughes was third in the triple jump with a mark of 43-6, Hlanguyo was fourth in the 100 in 10.86, Johnson was fifth in the 400 in 51.01, Timothy Mates was fifth in the 110 high hurdles with a time of 15.13, Lam Nguyen was sixth in the triple jump with a mark of 38-7, Jalon Stanley was eighth in the long jump with a mark of 20-7.75, and Ajay Harrison was eighth in the discus with a mark of 132-3 to account for the Golden Eagles' scoring.

Cal State LA will return to action next Saturday at the Occidental Distance Carnival and Spring Break Classic.
