LOS ANGELES -- Cal State LA's women's track and field team had some outstanding efforts this weekend at UCLA, most notably by senior hurdler
Mya Ferguson.
Ferguson had a pair of top finishes in the hurdles on Saturday at UCLA's Rafer Johnson/Jackie Joyner Kersee Invitational to highlight the event for Cal State LA. Ferguson finished third in the 100 hurdles with a season's best time of 14.39 and she also finished fifth in the 400 hurdles with a time of 66.33.
Dericka Braden led three Golden Eagles in the 400 after finishing 10th in 58.73.
Sanaia Woods was 16th in 61.17 and
Aazalet Danage was 18th in 61.28.
The Golden Eagles also had some strong efforts in the throws.
Jordyn Wyatt was fifth in the discus with a mark of 132-5, while
Pamela Grissom was sixth in the shot put with a mark of 39-1.25 and
Imani McGee was eighth in the shot put with a mark of 38-4.75.
On Friday,
Ja'Narie Rhambo was ninth in the hammer with a throw of 138-4, Wyatt was 16th with a mark of 114-6 and
Sophia Hatum was 19th with a mark of 92-11.
Cal State LA will return to action on April 2 at UC Irvine in a competition for throwers.
