IRVINE -- Cal State LA's beach volleyball team got another outstanding showing Saturday from its top pair against two top Division II programs.

Ashley Dittmann and Iane Henke won both their matches at No. 1 pairs to highlight the day for the Golden Eagles, who fell by 4-1 decisions to Colorado Mesa and Concordia at the Orange County Great Park.

Dittmann and Henke improved to 7-3 on the season, a remarkable achievement against tough competition. The duo accounted for Cal State LA's only point in a 4-1 loss against Colorado Mesa with a straight sets win over Hahni Johnson and Savannah Spitzer, 21-19, 21-15. 

Dittmann and Henke then rallied impressively to earn a win over Concordia's top pair of Vanessa Bernzen and Hannah Phair, 18-21, 21-19, 15-9. The other four matches were decided in straight sets in favor of Concordia.

Cal State LA will return to action on April 16 with matches against Marymount and Fullerton College in Redondo Beach.
