ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. -- Cal State LA's indoor track and field team had some strong individual performances Saturday on the final day of the New Mexico Collegiate Classic.
Pamela Grissom had the best individual finish with an eighth-place finish in the shot put. Grissom improved her season's best by more than one foot with a toss of 38-10.50. She led three strong performances by the Golden Eagles in that event.
Ja'Narie Rhambo finished 10th with a mark of 37-3 and
Imani McGee was 11th with a mark of 35-1.
The Golden Eagles had a pair of top-20 finishes in the 200 with
Eden Hahn finishing 13th with a time of 7.98 and
Sanaia Woods placing 19th in 8.04. Three other Golden Eagles ran well in the event with
Mya Ferguson finishing 27th in 8.23,
Javany McDermott placing 29th in 8.34 and
Rachel Trunnel placing 31st in 8.56.
Ferguson was also 19th in the 60 hurdles with a time of 9.17, while
Dericka Braden was 25th in the 400 with her season's best time of 60.04.
McDermott, who was fourth in the high jump on Saturday, was also 16th in the triple jump on Saturday with a mark of 36-8.25.
