SEATTLE, WASH. -- Cal State LA's women's indoor track team did well Friday during the opening day of the University of Washington Invitational.
Mya Ferguson had her third straight outstanding performance and once again set a personal best in the 60 hurdles. After qualifying for the finals in that event, Ferguson raced to a third-place finish with a time of 8.91. That edged her previous best of 8.93 and moved her closer to the NCAA Division II provisional qualifying standard of 8.83.
Javany McDermott posted a season best for the second straight week after finishing sixth in the high jump with a mark of 5-4.25. That moves her closer to the NCAA provisional qualifying standard of 5-5.75. Her previous season best was 5-3, set last week at Northern Arizona.
Ja'Narie Rhambo placed ninth in the weight throw with a mark of 49-3.75.
Cal State LA will conclude competition at the University of Washington Invitational on Saturday.
