A pair of kills from Santos and an attack error helped the Golden Eagles take a 23-18 lead, and, after Stanislaus State scored three straight points to make it 23-21, a block by Negron and Shelby Grubbs and a block by Negron and Roundtree evened the match.

Cal State LA jumped out to a 16-9 lead in the third set following kills by Negron and Elliott, a block by Roundtree and Elliott and a kill by Roundtree. The Golden Eagles kept at least a three-point margin the rest of the way and closed out the set on a kill by Roundtree and a block by Roundtree and Negron.

The Golden Eagles raced to a quick 9-3 lead in the fourth set and took a 15-5 advantage following a block by Roundtree and Cannon, a kill by Roundtree, an ace by Negron and kills by Cannon and Santos.
