Full List Of Fall Academic Honor Roll Recipients
LOS ANGELES – Cal State LA had a record 35 student-athletes from its five fall sports in the California Collegiate Athletic Association named to the 2020 CCAA Fall Academic Honor Roll, the conference announced on Monday. The Golden Eagles' total is an increase of 13 from last year and continues four years of gains for Cal State LA.
All 12 conference schools showed an increase this year and the conference reached a new high of 478 student-athletes, which shattered the previous mark by 127. The seasonal awards were instituted in 2014 and the Fall Academic Honor Roll was previously named the Fall All-Academic Team until this year.
Honor Roll distinction is given to student-athletes who are a sophomore in academic standing with a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.3. The standard requirement of competing in a conference-sponsored sport has been waived for 2020-21, as honorees must be a member of their team in good standing.
The fall sports honored this week were men's and women's cross country, men's and women's soccer and volleyball. Volleyball led the way for Cal State LA with 10 recipients, while men's soccer had eight, women's soccer had eight, men's cross country had six and women's cross country had three.
Shelby Grubbs of Cal State LA's volleyball is one of 14 CCAA fall student-athletes to maintain a 4.0 grade point average.
"I couldn't be more proud of our student-athletes," exclaimed CCAA commissioner Mitch Cox. "Despite the disappointment and frustration they have all felt, they were able to channel their energies to their academic pursuits and really knock it out of the park. This is a testament to their commitment and to the great job their coaches have done in helping them maintain their focus on their classes."

The CCAA recognizes individuals academically each season – fall, winter and spring – for all CCAA-sponsored sports. The conference will announce Honor Roll teams after the conclusion of the winter and spring seasons as well and also has full-year CCAA All-Academic Awards that are announced in June.
