Biography

2023: Had a third tremendous season for Cal State LA’s NCAA Division II, NCAA West Region and California Collegiate Athletic Association champions. Earned NCAA National Championships and NCAA West Regional All-Tournament teams after a sensational postseason run. Also earned second-team All-CCAA honors for a third straight season. Appeared in 32 matches and 118 sets. Led the team for a third season with 761 set assists. Was third in blocks with 66, fifth in kills with 68 and fifth in points with 105.5. Also contributed four service aces. Had a career-high 56 set assists and a season-high 12 digs in a five-set win over Wayne State on Dec. 7 in the national quarterfinals. Also had 49 set assists and eight digs in national championship match win over West Texas A&M on Dec. 9. Also had 42 set assists in three sets and directed the team to a .439 hitting percentage in a three-set win at Cal State San Bernardino in a three-set win the NCAA West Regional championship match. Had 186 digs in Cal State LA’s final four playoff wins, including 144 in the three championship site matches. Earned 2023-24 CCAA All-Academic honors. For her career, appeared in 93 matches and 327 sets. Had 2,158 set assists, which was No. 8 all-time, 280 kills, 45 service aces, 588 digs, 148 blocks and 401 points.

2022: Had a second outstanding season for Cal State LA’s NCAA West Region and CCAA champions in the fall. Earned second-team All-CCAA honors for a second straight season. Appeared in all 32 matches and 107 sets. Led the team for a second straight season with 603 set assists, fourth in digs with 197, tied for sixth in aces with 15, seventh in blocks with 29 and seventh in kills with 63. Earned CCAA Setter of the Week honors for the week of Aug. 29 – Sept. 4. Had a season-high 49 set assists in a five-set win over Ferris State on Aug. 25. Had 43 set assists and a season-high 15 digs later in the tournament in a five-set win over Simon Fraser on Aug. 27. Had a season-high three aces in a four-set win over Stanislaus State on Sept. 9. Had a season-high seven kills in in a three-set win over Seattle Pacific on Sept. 2 and a three-set win at Cal State East Bay on Sept. 17. Had a career-high four blocks in NCAA Tournament win over Central Washington on Nov. 18. Competed well for a second season with Cal State LA’s beach volleyball team in the spring (2023). Competed in eight matches, seven at No. 2 pairs and one at No. 3 pairs. Earned 2022-23 CCAA All-Academic Honors and 2022 CCAA Fall Academic Honor Roll recognition.

2021: Had a sensational first season on the indoor court for the Golden Eagles in the fall. Earned second-team All-CCAA honors. Was also named to the NCAA West Regional All-Tournament Team. Appeared in 29 matches and 102 sets. Led the team with 794 set assists, was second in service aces with 26, third in digs with 237 and fourth in kills with 149. Had a season-high 50 set assists and a season-high 19 digs at San Francisco State on Sept. 25. Also had 48 set assists in a first-round NCAA playoff win over Cal Poly Pomona on Dec. 2. Had eight double-doubles. Recorded 40 or more set assists in four matches. Had a season-high 13 kills and a season-high four service aces in a three-set win over Cal State East Bay on Oct. 23. Was one of Cal State LA’s top beach volleyball players in the spring. Played in 15 matches. Went 1-0 at No. 3 pairs and competed in 14 contests at No. 2 pairs, all with Emily Elliott. Earned 2021-22 CCAA All-Academic honors and also received 2021 CCAA Fall Academic Honor Roll recognition.

2020: Earned 2020-21 CCAA All-Academic honors and also received 2020 CCAA Fall Academic Honor Roll recognition in her first year with the program. Team did not compete due to COVID-19 in her first year with the program.

At Cal State East Bay: Started all 25 matches for the Pioneers as a freshman in 2019. Finished with 766 assists and averaged 7.82 assists per set. Was second on the team in digs with 213 and also had 98 kills, 46 blocks and nine service aces. Had 135.5 points. Recorded a season-high 53 set assists and 15 digs against Cal Poly Pomona on Oct. 26.

At Foothill High School: Started all four years in high school. Was named the Crestview League Most Valuable Player as a sophomore and earned all-league honors all four years. Helped the team win four straight Crestview League championships. Team also reached CIF semi-finals and the CIF State Division 1 Southern Regional Finals.

Personal: Daughter of John and Lisa Cannon. Majoring in political science. Enjoys art, animals and watching Marvel. Lists making it to the Final Four during a festival year as her most exciting experience in sports.
