LOS ANGELES -- Cal State LA's women's tennis team battled Friday in a hard-fought loss to Sonoma State.
The Golden Eagles dropped the doubles point and then managed only one singles point in a 6-1 loss to the Seawolves at the Cal State LA Tennis Complex. Cal State LA (3-3) got a win from 
Berta Acero at No. 5 singles and had a pair of three-set decisions go Sonoma State's way.
Cal State LA got a win at No. 2 doubles from Acero and 
Chelsey Ruiz, 6-3, over Sonoma State's Tiana Jadulang and Jenna DeTurk and tight 6-3 losses at No. 1 doubles and No. 3 doubles.
Garcia then beat Hannah Highsmith at No. 5 singles, 6-1, 6-2. 
Noa Davico dropped a close 1-6, 7-6, 6-3 decision at No. 2 singles to Jadulang and 
Sakura Kurokawa fell in the longest match of the day at No. 4 singles, 6-1, 4-6, 7-6 (7-5), at No. 4 singles to Carolina Alfonsin.
Cal State LA will return to action on Saturday with a road match at Point Loma.
