Biography

2021-22: Had an outstanding season for the Golden Eagles in her final year with the program. Led the team in victories and ended the season with an 11-match winning streak in singles. She was 13-2 in singles, 5-2 at No. 3 singles and 8-0 at No. 4 singles. She also had a 9-3 record in doubles, going 6-3 at No. 1 doubles with Sarah Olmos at No. 1 doubles, 2-0 at No. 2 doubles with Noa Davico and 1-0 at No. 3 doubles with Chelsey Ruiz. Earned PacWest Player of the Week honors for the week of April 11-17 after a pair of clutch wins over Concordia and Biola. Earned an ITA Scholar-Athlete Award from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association and was instrumental once again in Cal State LA earning the ITA All-Academic Team award. Also earned 2021-22 Academic All-PacWest Conference honors for a third time. For her career, had a 31-15 record in singles, including a 24-13 in dual matches. Had a 27-17 record in doubles, including a 24-14 record in dual matches.

2020-21: Earned an ITA Scholar-Athlete Award from the ITA for 2020-21 and was instrumental in Cal State LA earning an ITA All-Academic Team Award.

2019-20: Was enjoying great success in her second year with the program when the season was halted. Had a 7-1 overall record in singles, including a 6-1 mark in dual matches. Was 5-0 at No. 5 singles and 1-0 at No. 4 singles. Also had a 7-3 overall record in doubles, including a 6-2 overall mark with Chelsey Ruiz. Had a 5-0 record at No. 2 doubles. An outstanding student as well, received an ITA Scholar-Athlete Award. Also earned 2019-20 Academic All-PacWest honors for a second straight year. In her first two years with the program, has a 14-13 overall record in singles, including an 11-11 mark in dual matches. Has a 18-14 record in doubles, including a 15-11 mark in dual matches.

2018-19: Made big contributions to the Golden Eagles in her first year in the program. Had a 7-12 overall record in singles, including a 5-10 mark in dual matches. Played two matches at No. 2 singles, seven at No. 3 and six at No. 4. Also recorded an 11-11 record in doubles, including a 9-9 record in dual matches with four different partners. Earned 2018-19 Academic All-PacWest Conference honors.

At San Diego State: Compiled a 4-8 singles record in dual matches as a freshman in 2016-17. Was 1-1 in doubles. Competed in all three fall tournaments for the Aztecs in 2017-18. Earned Scholar-Athlete honors all four semesters and was named to the Mountain West All-Academic Team.

At I.E.S. Cosme Garcia: Competed in tennis, basketball and skiing. Was ranked No. 1 in her state and No. 9 for U-18 in Spain.

Personal: Daughter of Miguel Angel and Susana Garcia. Majored in international business. Enjoys traveling, going to the beach and being with her friends. Lists clinching very close matches in college for the team as her most exciting experiences in sports. Notes she loves learning about different cultures.
