LA MIRADA -- Cal State LA's women's team was outstanding in doubles on Tuesday and it was the difference in a tight match at Biola.
The Golden Eagles won the doubles point with three impressive showings and held on for a 4-3 win over the Eagles. Cal State LA (3-2) got singles wins from 
Noa Davico, 
Sakura Kurokawa and 
Berta Acero to clinch the victory.
The Golden Eagles got off to a strong start in the doubles. Davico and 
Amanda Schneider beat Colbeyshae Emery and Brooke Fager, 6-0 at No. 1 doubles, 
Chelsey Ruiz and Acero beat Lauren Lee and Faith Grisham at No. 2 doubles, 6-3 and 
Sakura Kurokawa and 
Mariko Sagara were victorious at No. 3 doubles in a 6-4 win over Allison Torres and Ines Diaz.
Acero won a straight-sets decision at No. 5 singles, 6-1, 6-4, over Torres, Kurokawa took a three-set decision at No. 4 singles over Lee, 7-5, 4-6, 6-1 and Davico got the final point in a three-set win at No. 2 singles.
Cal State LA will return to action on Friday with a home match against Sonoma State.
