OAKLAND -- Cal State LA's women's tennis team got its current road trip off to a successful start.
The Golden Eagles swept the three doubles points and then clinched the victory with three singles wins in a 6-0 victory over Holy Names on Sunday. Cal State LA (6-8) got singles wins from
Elizaveta Sokolova at No. 1 singles,
Amanda Schneider at No. 2 singles and
Isabella Lopez at No. 4 singles to wrap up the win.
Sokolova beat Jahan Bayramova, 6-1, 6-3, Schneider beat Dominque Ernst, 6-0, 6-2 and Lopez beat Julia Golub, 6-3, 6-0.
Cal State LA played well in the doubles and earned all three points. Sokolova and Schneider won at No. 1 doubles, 8-4, over Bayramova and Ernst, 8-4; Lopez and
Luciana Di Laura won at No. 2 doubles, 8-5, over Symone Jacques and Eliza McKean and
Mariko Sagara and
Chelsey Ruiz won at No. 3 doubles, 8-2, over Amaru Hernandez and Amandine Clouval, 8-2.
The match started late due to wet courts.
Cal State LA will return to action on Monday with a match at Sonoma State.
