ROHNERT PARK -- Cal State L.A.'s women's tennis team got its two-match Northern California road trip off to a tough start on Saturday.

The Golden Eagles won all their points at the top of the lineup, but fell to Sonoma State, 6-3, Saturday in Rohnert Park. Cal State L.A. (5-10) earned its points at the first two singles spots and at the No. 1 doubles position.

Christie Lau won her match at No. 1 singles, 6-3, 6-1, over Dana Carollo and Larn McShane bounced back from a tough second set to win at No. 2 singles, 6-0, 4-6, 6-1. Cal State L.A., though, lost the other four singles contests, three of them in straight sets. Linda Majzlikova started well at No. 3 singles, but ultimately fell to Megan White, 2-6, 6-0, 6-3. Jillian Sangria had an 11-match winning streak snapped at No. 4 singles when she fell to Haley Hickock, 6-2, 6-2.

The Golden Eagles managed only one point in doubles. Lau and McShane won at No. 1 doubles, 8-4.

Cal State L.A. will return to action on Sunday with a match at Cal State Stanislaus.
