Summary

Biography

2016: Was on the roster, but did not compete in any meets for the Golden Eagles in her final year with the program. For her career, had best marks of 5:09.47 in the 1,500 meters, 11:14.39 in the 3,000 and 20:27.66 in the 5,000.

2015: Ran for a second season with the Cal State LA track and field team and for the first time since 2012. Had best times of 5:13.42 in the 1,500, 11:46.83 in the 3,000 and 20:27.66 in the 5,000. Also competed for Cal State LA’s cross country team in the fall and was a consistent member of the top-five. Finished 106th in the California Collegiate Athletic Association Championships with a time of 25:52.3 over 6,000 meters. Finished 177th in the NCAA Division II West Regionals with a time of 26:28.2 over a 6,000-meter course.

2014: Competed for Cal State L.A.’s cross country team for a third season. Ran in four races. Finished 93rd in the CCAA Championships with a time of 27:53.7 over a 6,000-meter course.

2013: Did not compete for the Golden Eagles.

2012: Had best times of 5:09.47 in the 1500 meters and 11:14.39 in the 3,000 in her first season with Cal State L.A.’s track and field team. Also ran well in her second season with the Golden Eagle cross country team in the fall. Competed in five events. Finished 97th in the CCAA Championships with a time of 26:38.2 over 6,000 meters. Had a best 5,000-meter time of 20:48.0 at the Cal Baptist Invitational.

2011: Competed in two events in her first season with the Cal State L.A. cross country team.  Had a best 5,000-meter time of 21:19.4 at the UC Riverside Invitational and had a best 6,000-meter time of 25:20.8 at the Cal State Northridge Invitational.

At Cantwell Sacred Heart High School: Team won cross country league championship in 2008, 2009 and 2010. Captured two individual league championships in the 1,600 meters in track and field. Track and field team won league championships in 2008 and 2009. Won Scholar-Athlete awards from 2007-11 and also earned Coaches’  and Inspiration Awards.

Personal: Daughter of Mario and Valerie Perez. Majoring in exercise science and biosciences. Enjoys baking, reading, gardening and hiking. Lists winning the 1,600 meter championship in 2008 as her most exciting experience in sports
