Cal State LA Athletics

2011: Had an excellent season for the Golden Eagles in his one year with the program. Finished third in the triple jump at the California Collegiate Athletic Association Championships and earned all-conference honors. Also finished ninth in the javelin and 13th in the long jump. A versatile competitor, had a best mark of 5,079 in the decathlon. Also had best marks of 12.13 in the 100 meters, 57.47 in the 400, 5:29.09 in the 1,500, 5-6 in the high jump, 10-4 in the pole vault, 21-7.50 in the long jump, 47-1 in the triple jump, 32-3.50 in the shot put, 95-2 in the discus and 156-0 in the javelin.

At Riverside Community College: Recorded best marks of 46-8 in the triple jump and 22-11 in the long jump. Team won state championships in 2009 and 2010.

At San Jacinto High School: Competed in football and track and field. Was on two CIF runner-up teams in football in 2007 and 2008. Football team won four straight league championships. Was a CIF qualifier in track and field and part of a team that won four straight league championships. Was named the team’s Field Athlete of the Year in 2008 in track and field and the Special Teams Player of the Year in football.

Personal: Son of Michael and Lorie Bonds. Majoring in civil engineering. Enjoys reading, collecting sea shells, surfing and snowboarding. Lists winning state championships two years in a row as his most exciting experiences in sports.
