Cal State LA Athletics

2011: Was a versatile competitor for the Golden Eagles in his one year with the program. Recorded a total of 5,130 points in the decathlon. Had best marks of 11.33 in the 100, 52.06 in the 400, 4:42.29 in the 1,500, 17.28 in the 110 high hurdles, 5-6 in the high jump, 7-8.50 in the pole vault, 21-00.75 in the long jump, 26-3.50 in the shot put, 71-5 in the discus and 107-1 in the javelin.

At East Los Angeles College: Earned Academic Achievement Award and Academic Excellence Award. Placed seventh in the South Coast Conference in the triple jump. Had best marks of 20-3.50 in the long jump, 42-6.75 in the triple jump and 4,739 points in the decathlon.

At Garfield High School: Was on the National Honor Roll. Competed in cross country, volleyball and track and field.

Personal: Son of Jose and Delia Moran. Majoring in Kinesiology. Enjoys playing sports on the weekends. Lists becoming the league champion in the triple jump as an underdog as his most exciting experience in sports.
