Cal State LA Athletics

2009-10: Made big contributions for the Golden Eagles in his one year with the program. Appeared in all 28 games and started 20 times. Played a total of 558 minutes. Averaged 3.8 points and 4.3 rebounds per game. Was fifth on the team in rebounding. Had a season-high 11 points and five rebounds in a 77-72 win at Sonoma State (12-5-09). Also had seven points and a season-high nine rebounds in a 62-53 win against UC San Diego (1-2-10). Made his Cal State L.A. debut and started in a 65-53 win at Hope International (11-17-09).

At Central Arizona College: Led the team in rebounds with 7.8 boards per game. Also scored 7.0 points per game. Was also named to Who’s Who Among Students In Universities and Colleges in America.

At Pinnacle High School: Competed in football, basketball and track and field. Earned the “Hustle Award” in basketball and the school’s Academic Award.

Personal: Son of Jose and Paula Furtado. Majoring in civil engineering. Enjoys listening to music, watching television, swimming and computers. Lists going to the semi-finals in high school as his most exciting experience in sports.
