Cal State LA Athletics

2008: Had a strong season for the Golden Eagles in her one year with the track and field program. Finished eighth in the 10,000 meters at the California Collegiate Athletic Association Championships. Had best marks of 5:01.36 in the 1,500 meters, 10:22.49 in the 3,000, 17:52.46 in the 5,000 and 40:09.11 in the 10,000.

2007: Made her debut with the Golden Eagle cross country team in the fall and had an outstanding year. Earned All-California Collegiate Athletic Association honors after finishing fourth in the conference and helping the Golden Eagles to the team title. Also finished 20^th in the West Regional, helping the team to a second-place finish and wound up 76^th in the national championships while helping the team to a fifth-place national finish.

At Oxnard College: Competed in the state championships in cross country. Finished third in the state meet in the 5,000 and 10,000 in track and field. Earned first-team All-Conference honors in cross country and the team finished 11^th in the state.

At Oxnard High School: Competed in cross country and track and field.

Personal: Daughter of Jorge and Cecilia Ruizvelasco. Majoring in child development. Enjoys running.
