Summary

Biography

2008: Had an outstanding season for the Golden Eagles in her one year with the track and field program. Competed in the heptathlon for the Golden Eagles in the California Collegiate Athletic Association championships. Had best marks of 18.98 in the 100, 30.11 in the 200 meters, 4-9.75 in the high jump, 15-00 in the long jump, 31-8 in the shot put, and 80-10 in the javelin in outdoor track. Also competed well during the indoor season. Had best marks of 4-11 in the high jump, 14-7 in the long jump and 29-11.25 in the shot put. Finished her career No. 4 all-time at Cal State L.A. in the indoor high jump.

2007: Completed an outstanding four-year career for the Golden Eagle volleyball program. Earned first-team All-California Collegiate Athletic Association honors for the second time in her career and received All-CCAA recognition for the third time overall. Was second on the team in kills and blocks.  For her career, appeared in 113 matches and 403 sets. Had 947 kills, 297 blocks and 1,133 points. Finished her career No. 2 all-time in total blocks with 297 and No. 2 all-time in block assists with 272. Was also No. 8 all-time in hitting percentage (.258).

2006: Earned All-CCAA honors for the second time in her career after being named to the second team. Appeared in all 27 matches and played in a team-high 92 games. Finished third on the team with 205 kills.

2005: Had a sensational sophomore season and earned first-team All-CCAA honors. Was named to the NCAA Division II Pacific Regional All-Tournament team. Finished fifth on the team with 215 kills and led the team in blocks with 84. Cal State L.A. won the Pacific Region championship and advanced all the way to the national semi-finals.

2004: Made an impressive debut as a freshman for the Golden Eagles in 2004. Finished fifth on the team with 248 kills and was also second on the team in blocks with 67 and fifth in aces with 23.

At Bear Creek HS: Was the team’s Most Valuable Player in 2003. Also earned first-team All-League, All-Area and All-Region in both volleyball and basketball.

Personal: Daughter of Michael and Phyllis Cox. Majoring in biology. Enjoys sports, trying new things and meeting new people. Lists going to the NCAA Division II national championships in 2005 as her most exciting experience in sports.
