Cal State LA Athletics

2016-17: Had a sensational season for the Golden Eagles in his one year with the program. Led the team and was one of the top scorers in the California Collegiate Athletic Association with 16.8 points per game. Also led the team with 6.7 rebounds per game. Was second on the team in assists with 68 and tied for second in steals with 25. Set a new single-season program record with 77 made 3-pointers. Earned second-team All-California Collegiate Athletic Association honors. Poured in a season-high 35 points and grabbed 12 rebounds against Sonoma State (12-3-16). Also had 31 points against UC San Diego (2-11-17). Reached double figures in scoring 25 times and scored 20 or more points 11 times, including the final five games of the season.

At Long Beach State: Was a key player in his three years with the Division I program and was the Big West Conference’s Sixth Man of the Year last season as a junior. Was third on the team in scoring with 10.1 points per game and third in rebounding with 4.9 rebounds per game.  Appeared in 32 games last season with five starts. Played in 25 games as a sophomore and started three times. Averaged 6.4 points per game, including 8.3 points in conference play. Made immediate contributions as a freshman after joining the team midseason. Was fifth on the team in scoring with 6.5 points per game.

At Richland Northeast High School: Competed in baseball, basketball and football. Was an All-Region and All-State selection three years in a row. Was a  member of the school’s 1,000-point club and was the fourth all-time leading scorer. Broke the all-time record for rebounds.

Personal: Son of Cameron and Margaret Ervin. Majoring in Pan African studies. Enjoys being in the studio. Lists playing on television in front of thousands of people as his most exciting experience in sports.
