Cal State LA Athletics

2016: Had a strong season for the Golden Eagles in his second and final year with the program. Had best marks of 11.48 in the 100 meters and 50.40 in the 400. For his career, had best marks of 11.48 in the 100, 22.42 in the 200 and 48.83 in the 400.

2015: Had a promising first season for the Golden Eagles. Finished fourth in the California Collegiate Athletic Association in the 400 meters and was part of Cal State LA's 4x400 relay team that placed fourth. Had best marks of 22.42 in the 200 meters and 48.83 in the 400. Had the second-fastest 400-meter time on the team.

At Santa Monica JC: Was the Southern California junior college 400 meter champion and the Western State Conference champion. Finished fifth in the state with a time of 47.84. Also had a best time in the 200 of 22.87.

At Knight High School: Competed in football and track and field. Earned second-team All-Golden League honors as a defensive back. Was the track Most Valuable Player in 2011 and 2012. Was the Golden League’s 400-meter champion in 2012 and took third in the league in the 200 in 2012. Was also third in the league in the 400 in 2011.

Personal: Son of Toya and Iris Johnson. Majoring in business. Enjoys snowboarding, hiking and swimming. Lists winning the 400 meters at the WSC championships in front of everyone from his home town as his most exciting experience in sports. Notes he is a 49ers and Spurs fan.
