Cal State LA Athletics

2015: Had an outstanding season in her one year with the program. Appeared in 22 matches and 71 sets. Had 117 kills, 38 blocks, 23 digs, three assists and one service ace. Had a season-high 11 kills and three blocks at Cal State San Bernardino on Sept. 26. Had 11 kills and one ace in a five-set win at Cal Poly Pomona on Nov. 11. Had a season-high four blocks in a three-set win against Felician on Sept. 10, in a three-set win against Chico State on Sept. 19 and against Cal State San Bernardino on Nov. 13.

At Alabama Huntsville: Played for two seasons with the Division II program. Led the team in blocks as a freshman with 84 and was third in kills with 263 while playing in 34 of the team’s 35 matches. Played in 23 matches as a sophomore and was second on the team in kills with 268. Also had 55 blocks.

At Case High School: Earned first-team and second-team All-Conference honors in both volleyball and soccer. Earned All-County honors in soccer. Competed in volleyball, soccer and basketball in high school.

Personal: Daughter of Otha and Sandra Thurmond. Majoring in business management. Enjoys motocross, snowboarding, French fries and spending time with her family. Lists receiving an All-County awards for soccer after playing goalkeeper for only one year as her most exciting experience in sports.
