Cal State LA Athletics

2013-14: Had a strong season for the Golden Eagles in his one year with the program. Appeared in 26 games and started 15 times. Played a total of 303 minutes. Averaged 1.7 points and 2.0 rebounds per game. Led the team with 25 blocks. Made his Cal State LA debut and first start in a 96-77 win at Pacific Union College (11-9-13). Had a season-high eight points and eight rebounds in a season-high 25 minutes. Had a season-high four blocks in back-to-back games against Cal State Monterey Bay (2-1-14) and Sonoma State (2-7-14). 

At Cal State Northridge: Limited to six games because of injury. Was named to the All-Big West Conference All-Academic team in 2011-12 and appeared in 14 games. Team reached the second round of the Big West Tournament. Was a starter in 13 of the team’s last 16 games as a freshman.

At Serra High School: Was part of a state championship team in 2010. Team also won the CIF Division III title. Averaged 12 points, 10 rebounds and four blocks per game. Was nominated as a McDonald’s All-American and earned All-League, All-Daily Breeze and All-CIF honors.

Personal: Son of Haven Mitchell and Rhonda Baychue. Majoring in film television Enjoys reading and writing screenplays. Lists winning the state championship at Serra as his most exciting experience in sports. Says his sister, Jade, is a star volleyball at Serra and that his aunt Lisa is a hairdresser who is very popular among celebrities.
