Biography

2013-14: Had a third outstanding season for the Golden Eagles and completed a sensational three-year career with the program. Appeared and started in 26 games. Played a total of 867 minutes. Averaged 18.1 points and 4.2 rebounds per game. Earned first-team All-California Collegiate Athletic Association honors. Led the team and was second in the conference in scoring. Also led the team in minutes played, successful 3-pointers with 60 and steals with 35. Was also second in assists with 47. Had a career-high 30 points in an 81-73 win at Cal State Monterey Bay (12-6-13). Had 26 points, five rebounds and four assists in an 89-79 win over Cal State East Bay (1-31-14) and had 26 points and had 26 points, two assists and two steals in a 78-71 win over San Francisco State (1-3-14). Had 18 points and a season-high 10 rebounds in an 84-78 win at Humboldt State (2-20-14). Reached double figures in scoring 24 times and scored 20 or more points nine times. For his career, appeared in 78 games and started 68 times. Played a total of 2,245 minutes. Averaged 12.0 points and 3.3 rebounds per game. Had a total of 137 assists and 74 steals in his career. Had 128 successful 3-pointers in his career and attempted a program-record 426.

2012-13: Had a gritty second season with the Golden Eagles and played through a painful injury all season long. Appeared in 25 games and started 16 times. Averaged 6.0 points and 2.3 rebounds per game. Matched a career-high with 21 points in a big win over Chico State (1-18-13). Also had 19 points in a win over Sonoma State (2-16-13). Tied for second on the team in 3-pointers made. Picked up the athletic department’s Academic Achievement Award (male) for 2012-13.

2011-12: Had an outstanding first season with the Golden Eagles and earned second-team All-California Collegiate Athletic Association honors. Led the team in scoring with 11.6 points per game. Poured in a season-high 21 points in a win over Cal State East Bay (1-27-12) and followed that up with 19 points in a win over Cal State Monterey Bay (1-28-12). Was 14-of-22 from the field in the two games. Also equaled his season-high with 21 points in a win at San Francisco State (2-24-12) and scored 20 points to go along with five rebounds against Sonoma State (1-7-12). Reached double figures in scoring 15 times. Led the team in 3-point field goals with 45 and was second in assists with 60.

At Fresno City College: Was the state Co-Most Valuable Player of the Year in 2010-11. Averaged 17.3 points per game and helped the Rams to the state championship semi-finals and the Central Valley Conference title. Named the MVP of the conference as well as the Freshman of the Year. Also led the team with 2.3 steals per game.

At Dominguez High School: Competed in basketball.

Personal: Son of Darrell Watkins and Ladonna Shores. Majoring in fire administration technology. Enjoys basketball and music. Lists his first dunk as his most exciting experience in sports.
