Cal State LA Athletics

2013: Had a second sensational season for the Golden Eagles in his final year with the program. Started all 21 games for the Golden Eagles and played a total of 1,732 minutes. Had four goals and seven assists for 15 points. Was third on the team in scoring. Earned second-team All-West Region honors from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America and Daktronics. Earned second-team All-California Collegiate Athletic Association honors. Had two assists in a 6-1 win over Saint Martin's on Sept. 8. Had both goals in a 2-0 win over Chico State on Sept. 27. Had the game-winning goal in a 1-0 victory over Cal Poly Pomona on Oct. 13. Also had the game-winning goal in a 2-0 victory at Cal State Dominguez Hills on Nov. 1. Had assists in three of the last four games of the season, including the game-winning goal by Andre Bissmark in the 86th minute of a 1-0 victory over UC San Diego in the CCAA Tournament championship match on Nov. 10 and a game-tying goal in the 70th minute by Jordan Payne in an NCAA second-round playoff game against Simon Fraser on Nov. 16. For his career, appeared in 41 games and started all of them. Played a total of 3,536 minutes. Had four goals and nine assists for 17 points.

2012: Had an outstanding first season with the Golden Eagles and was one of the top players on the team. Started all 20 games for the Golden Eagles in the midfield and was third on the team in minutes played with 1,804. Earned second-team Daktronics All-West Region honors and was a first-team All-California Collegiate Athletic Association selection. Picked up both of his assists in games against Cal State Stanislaus, the first one on a goal by Rosario Bras in a 3-0 win in Turlock on Sept. 9 and the other on a goal by Bras in the CCAA Championship Tournament on Nov. 2.

At Cerritos College: Earned second-team All-South Coast Conference honors as a sophomore after scoring four goals with eight assists. Also played in all 18 games as a freshman and recorded one assist.

At Paramount High School: Was the CIF Division III Player of the Year as a senior after scoring 27 goals with 16 assists. Team won the CIF Division III and State Regional Division I titles. Team also won the league championship four years in a row. Was the league Most Valuable Player as a junior after scoring 22 goals with 15 assists.

Personal: Son of Juan and Angelina Ochoa. Majoring in liberal studies. Enjoys Xbox and movies. Lists the Salinas Tournament and Surf Cup national finals as his most exciting experiences in sports.
