Cal State LA Athletics

2011: Had an impressive first season with the cross country program last fall. Competed in all six events for the Golden Eagles. Was a top-five scorer in the Golden Eagles’ final two meets. Finished 55^th in the California Collegiate Athletic Association Championships with a 6,000-meter time of 23:12.1. Helped the Golden Eagles to a third-place team finish. Placed 94^th in the NCAA West Regionals with a time of 24:08.0. Also competed for Cal State L.A.’s track and field team in 2012. Had best times of 5:00.94 in the 1,500, 10:53.71 in the 3,000, 11:48.25 in the steeplechase and 18:49.59 in the 5,000.

At Riverside City College: Helped team finish second in conference in cross country and placed 10^th in the conference. Earned second-team All-Conference honors. Helped team finish first in the conference in track and field. Was sixth in the 1,500 meters and sixth in the 10,000 in the conference finals.

At Santiago High School: Earned second-team All-League honors in track and field as part of the 4x400 relay team. Competed in cross country, track and field, softball and basketball. Graduated with High Honors.

Personal: Daughter of Richard and Sonya Vaughn. Majoring in studio art. Enjoys running, painting and cycling. Lists placing third in the CCAA as a team in cross country and traveling to Washington for the NCAA West Regionals as her most exciting experiences in sports.
