Summary

Biography

2011: Competed in three events for Cal State L.A. in cross country last fall. Recorded a best time of 17:08.6 over 5,000 meters while finishing 28th at the UC San Diego Opener. Had a best 6,000-meter time of 25:16.3 at the Cal State Northridge Invitational. Also competed for the Cal State L.A. track and field team in the spring and had best times of 64.26 in the 400, 2:26.58 in the 800 and 5:12.25 in the 1,500.
 
2010: Was a main contributor for the cross country team in her second year in the program and was a top-five runner in most meets. Finished 99th in the California Collegiate Athletic Association Championships with a time of 27:15.7 over 6,000 meters and placed 118th in the NCAA West Regional with a time of 26:16.7 over 6,000 meters. Ran well in her second season of track and field in the spring (2011). Had best marks of 2:21.90 in the 800, 5:01.97 in the 1,500 and 11:55.28 in the 3,000.
 
2009: Had a successful first cross country season with the Golden Eagles. Received the Coach’s Award. Competed in six events. Finished 67th in the CCAA Championships with a time of 25:48.1 over 6,000 meters. Also placed 128th in the NCAA West Regional with a time of 25:17.8 over 6,000 meters. Had a best time of 20:07 over 5,000 meters at the UC Riverside Invitational. Had the team’s best mark in the 1,500 meters (5:06.78) in outdoor track in the spring (2010). Also had best times of 2:26.68 in the 800, 11:46.20 in the 3,000 and 19:59.33 in the 5,000.
 
At Glen A. Wilson High School: Competed in cross country, track and field and softball. Was the team captain in cross country in 2008 and track and field in 2009. Won the 2009 Miramonte League championship in the 800 meters and team won league championships in cross country and track and field. Earned the Coach’s Award in cross country and track and field.
 
Personal: Daughter of Ricardo and Martha Lopez. Majoring in television, film and media studies. Enjoys running, shopping and smiling. Lists becoming the Miramonte League Champion in the 800 meters in track as her most exciting experience in sports. Has two sisters, Jennifer and Stephanie.
