Summary

Biography

2012: Had a second strong season in her second and final year with the program. Appeared in 29 matches and 84 sets. Was sixth on the team in kills with 131 and points with 143.5. Also had 139 digs, 15 blocks, 12 assists and three aces. Had a season-high 13 kills in a win over Humboldt State on Nov. 9. Also had 12 kills in matches against Sonoma State on Sept. 29 and Cal Poly Pomona on Nov. 10. Had a career-high 13 digs and three blocks against UC San Diego on Oct. 19. For her career, appeared in 52 matches and 150 sets. Had 247 kills, 35 blocks, 15 aces, 27 assists, 282.5 points and 266 digs.

2011: Made an immediate impact in her first season with the program. Appeared in 23 matches and 66 sets. Finished fourth on the team in kills with 116. Also had 12 service aces and 20 blocks. Earned a California Collegiate Athletic Association All-Academic Award. Enjoyed immediate success and was named to the All-Tournament team at the season-opening Cal State San Bernardino Coyote Labor Day Classic. Recorded a season-high 15 kills against Alaska Anchorage on Sept. 3 and had 13 kills against Western Washington on Sept. 2 in the tourney. Also had 14 kills in a conference match at Cal State East Bay on Sept. 9.

At Pierce College: Earned first-team All-Conference honors and was named to the CCCAA All-State team. Was the team captain and helped the team win a state championship in 2010. Was the Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year and was a conference Scholar-Athlete. Made the Dean’s List and was on the Presidential Academic list.

At Santa Barbara City College: Earned first-team All-Conference honors and was a team captain.

At Taft High School: Competed in volleyball, soccer, cross country and track and field. Was a team captain on the volleyball team and was a L.A. City Section Player of the Year candidate in 2007-08. Earned first-team All-League and first-team All-City honors twice and team won the West Valley League championship in 2006-07 with an 18-0 record. Team also won 2005-06 title. Was the Most Outstanding Varsity Distance Runner in 2005, 2006 and 2007 and was the school’s Most Valuable Cross Country Runner in 2005 and 2006. Was an L.A. City Section finalist in the 800 and 1,500 meters. Earned a scholar-athlete award in 2004-05, 2005-06 and 2006-07.

Personal: Daughter of James and Kristy Potter. Majoring in television, film and media studies with an option in broadcast journalism. Enjoys riding dirt bikes, ping-pong, hiking, running and wakeboarding. Lists winning the state championship at Pierce College for the first time in the program’s history as her most exciting experience in sports. Has two brothers, Max and Alex.
