Cal State LA Athletics

2012: Had a sensational season in her one year with the program. Appeared in 29 matches and 102 sets. Was second on the team in kills with 214 and third in points with 255.5. Had 159 digs, 79 blocks, 16 assists and 13 aces. Had a season-high 17 kills in a win at Cal State East Bay on Oct. 25. Recorded a season-high 20 digs in a win against Chico State on Nov. 16. Had 12 kills, 17 digs and a season-high five blocks in a win at Cal Poly Pomona on Nov. 10. Reached double figures in kills eight times and had two double-doubles.

At Cal State East Bay: Earned second-team All-California Collegiate Athletic Association honors as a junior in 2010. Was second on the team with 245 kills and also had 135 digs. Helped team to a second-place conference finish. Earned CCAA All-Academic honors for a second straight year. Led the team in kills with 281 as a sophomore in 2009. Also had 230 digs. Earned CCAA All-Academic honors.

At Fresno State: Played in eight matches.

At Milpitas High School: Earned all-league honors as a junior and senior. Was named the team’s MVP as a senior. Was named her school’s Female Athlete of the Year as a junior and senior. Also earned three varsity letters in basketball and earned first-team all-league honors. Helped the basketball team win Central Coast Section title in 2006. Earned scholar-athlete honors all four years in high school.

Personal: Daughter of Narinder and Rana Athwal. Majoring in credential: multiple subject teaching. Enjoys working out, hanging out with family and friends, shopping and eating. Lists beating Cal State San Bernardino in the 2010 season while at Cal State East Bay as her most exciting experience in sports.
