GOODYEAR -- Cal State LA's women's golf team put together a strong opening round Monday at the 2026 Women's Shootout at Estrella, placing four golfers among the top 20 and finishing the day tied for second.
The Golden Eagles posted a 2-over-par team score of 290 at the par-72, 5,901-yard Golf Club of Estrella. Cal State LA is tied with UT-Dallas and trails tournament leader Cal State San Marcos by four strokes.
Sarah Amaya led the Golden Eagles with a 1-under-par 71 and is alone in fifth place. She enters Tuesday's final round three strokes behind Cal State San Marcos' Carmella Carlisi, who leads the 87-player field following a 4-under-par 68.
Rilee Crosby is one stroke behind Amaya and tied for sixth after recording an even-par round of 72. Crosby is part of a seven-player group four strokes off the individual lead.
Annie Betts gave Cal State LA a third golfer among the top 13, opening the tournament with a 1-over-par 73. She is tied for 13th and five strokes behind the leader.
Isabelle Olivas-Lowell completed the Golden Eagles' four counting scores with a 2-over-par 74. She is tied for 20th in the individual standings.
Daniela Andrade rounded out Cal State LA's five-player lineup with a 6-over-par 78 and is tied for 47th.
Lisette Orellana, competing as an individual, shot a 4-over-par 76 and is tied for 28th.
Cal State LA's four counting golfers finished the opening round within three strokes of one another. The Golden Eagles will begin Tuesday's final round four shots behind Cal State San Marcos and four shots ahead of fourth-place Point Loma.
