LOS ANGELES -- Cal State LA's men's soccer team has earned the No. 6 spot in the NCAA Division II Super Region 4 poll released by the NCAA Men's Soccer Committee on Wednesday.
The Golden Eagles, who dropped out of the California Collegiatge Athletic Association Tournament with a 2-1 loss to Cal State East Bay last Sunday in University Stadium, have been ranked in the top-six in every Super Region 4 poll since the Super Region format was created in 2019.
The Golden Eagles won Super Region 4 championships in 2019 and 2021 and hosted the first two rounds of the playoffs in 2022 and 2023. Cal State LA reached the Super Region 4 championship game in 2023Â as a No. 2 seed and reached the third round of the playoffs in 2024 after a home victory over Cal State Dominguez Hills in the second round.
Cal State LA is seeking its 19th NCAA appearance and its 13th in the past 14 seasons.
Stanislaus State is ranked No. 1 in the poll and is followed by Cal State Dominguez Hills, Seattle Pacific, Point Loma, Midwestern State, Cal State LA, Cal State San Bernardino, Westminster, Regis and Western Oregon in the top-10.. Vanguard is 11th and Hawaii Hilo is 12th in the poll.
The poll determines the qualifiers for the NCAA Tournament. Each Super Region will have 10 qualifiers for a 40-team NCAA field.
The five conferences in the Super Region 4 – the CCAA, Great Northwest Athletic Conference, the PacWest Conference, the Lone Star Conference and the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference – each receive an automatic bid. The CCAA's automatic bid goes to the winner of the conference tournament, which is being held this weekend at Cal State Monterey Bay with Cal State Dominguez Hills facing Cal State San Marcos and Stanislaus State meeting Cal State East Bay in semifinal matches.

The top six teams receive first-round byes with No. 7 facing No. 10 at the site of the No. 2 seed and No. 8 facing No. 9 at the site of the No. 1 seed as the first-round matchups on Friday, Nov. 21. The top four seeds then host second-round games on Sunday, Nov. 23, with the highest remaining seed after that round in line to host the next two rounds.
The NCAA Tournament field will be announced on Monday, Nov. 17.
