RENO, NEV. -- Cal State LA's men's and women's track and field teams turned in some strong performances at the two-day Nevada Invitational.
Newcomer
Drew Hill had the top individual performance, taking third place in the 60-meter finals in the Reno Sparks Convention Center. His time in the final of 8.72 is currently eighth in the country. Earlier, he ran a 6.70 while finishing second in the prelims.
On Friday, Hill was eighth and
Jesus Chavez was 10th in the 200 with both posting times of 21.38. The mark is a provisional qualifying mark.
Cal State LA's 4x400 relay team of
Drew Hill,
Gabriel Schafer,
Jesus Chavez and
Gabriel Pearson was sixth with a time of 3:22.11.
For the women,
Destiny Moedano had a 10th-place finish in the 400 meters on Friday with a mark of 57.97 and the 4x400 relay team of
Emmerson Wiggins,
Destiny Moedano,
Dalia Romo and
Paula Romo was 10th on Saturday with a time of 3:54.78.
