LOS ANGELES -- Cal State LA's
Taesja Paopao was selected to the 2024 Division II Conference Commissioners Association Women's Soccer All-West Region Team, the organization announced on Tuesday.
Paopao earned first-team honors for a second straight year after another sensational season that saw her lead the Golden Eagles back to the California Collegiate Athletic Association Tournament for a 11th straight season. She helped the Golden Eagles to a third-place finish in the conference for a second straight season.
Paopao was named the CCAA Goalkeeper of the Year for a second straight season after leading the conference in goals against average (.604) and save percentage (.867), while ranking second in shutouts with nine. She finished her Cal State LA career with 21 shutouts in two seasons.
A total of 13 players were named to the first team, while another 13 were named to the second team.
Hawaii-Hilo forward Teani Arakawa was named the West Region Player of the Year for a second straight season.
The D2 CCA encourages and promotes Division II athletics and high standards of sportsmanship as important elements of high education. The D2 CCA is a key communications link among the conferences as they discuss views, policies and regulations that impact NCAA Division II athletics and works closely with the NCAA as a communications channel to NCAA Division II member colleges and universities.
The D2 CCA Player of the Year award and all-region teams are nominated and selected by members of the region's athletics communications staffs. The 13 members of the All-West Region first team will now be placed on the national ballot for All-America consideration.
The All-America teams will be released on Tuesday, Dec. 10.
