LOS ANGELES -- Cal State LA's women's track and field team picked up a pair of victories to highlight the day's events at the Occidental Distance Carnival And Spring Break Classic.

Javany McDermott won the high jump and equaled her season's best with a mark of 5-3 and Mya Ferguson won the 100 hurdles with a time of 14.73, which is her best of the season.

Dericka Braden had a strong performance as well and finished fourth in the 400 meters with a season's best time of 59.41. Sanaia Woods was seventh with a time of 59.93.

The 4x400 relay team of Braden, Ferguson, Aazalet Danage and Woods finished second with a time of 3:58.40, which is the team's fastest time of the season by nearly seven seconds.

Cal State LA will return to action next Saturday at the Franson Classic at Azusa Pacific.
