SAN LUIS OBISPO -- Cal State LA's men's basketball team continued to make big strides in the third of three exhibition contests against NCAA Division I opponents.
The Golden Eagles found their stride in the second half of an 87-70 loss to Cal Poly San Luis Obispo Wednesday night at the Mott Athletic Center. Cal State LA had a 41-40 edge in the second half and shot an impressive 51.7 percent in the final 20 minutes.
Alexander Sokol led all scorers with 24 points, while
Wesley Harris Jr. had 13 points.
Sean Estes and
Adrease Jackson had eight points each for the Golden Eagles.
Cal State LA shot 43.1 percent for the game (25-of-58) and knocked down 8-of-30 attempts from behind the 3-point arc. The Golden Eagles also battled on the boards, trailing by just a 33-32 margin.Â
The Golden Eagles will return to action in their 2021-22 season opener next Friday, Nov. 12, against Biola in the CCAA/PacWest Challenge at Concordia.
