SAN FRANCISCO -- Cal State LA's women's basketball team ended its 2019-20 season with a big win Saturday at San Francisco State.
The Golden Eagles erupted for a season high in points in a 99-46 win over the Gators in a California Collegiate Athletic Association game. Cal State LA (12-16, 10-12 CCAA) won its final two games in a successful road trip and ended the season with three wins in its last four games.
Sydney Bordonaro led the scoring barrage with 23 points and she extended her program single-season record for 3-pointers to 89 after going 7-of-16 from distance on Saturday.
Rebeccah DiRegolo scored a season-high 18 points and grabbed six rebounds, while
Rachael DiRegolo had 14 points and a career-high 20 rebounds.
Taimane Lesa-Hardee had 25 points for San Francisco State (1-24, 1-21 CCAA).
Mackenzie Barnes had six points and a career-high 16 rebounds, while
Nicole Flennaugh had eight points and three assists.
Cal State LA shot 50 percent for the game (39-of-78) and hit 13-of-32 from 3-point range. The Golden Eagles had a 59-30 rebounding edge and committed 11 turnovers to 14 for the Gators.
The Golden Eagles were hot from the start and took a quick 9-0 lead after 3-pointers from
Alyssa Fisher, Flennaugh and
Yesenia Smith. Five late points from Flennaugh gave the Golden Eagles a 32-8 lead after one quarter.
The Golden Eagles were 13-of-21 from 3-point range in the first half and had a 53-19 lead by halftime. Cal State LA led 79-30 after three quarters and extended their lead any further in the fourth.
