Biography

2022-23: Had an outstanding season for the Golden Eagles in her final year with the program. Appeared in all 30 games with four starts. Played a total of 649 minutes. Averaged 6.0 points, 2.6 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game. Also had 36 steals. Was sixth on the team in scoring, seventh in assists, fourth in steals and third in minutes played. Was also third on the team with 26 successful 3-point field goals. Hit one of the biggest shots of the season, a game-winning 3-pointer in the final seconds of a 61-58 victory over Sonoma State (2-23-23). Had a season-high 14 points and five rebounds in a 74-43 victory at Cal State Monterey Bay (2-4-23). Had a season-high eight rebounds in a 63-50 win at Cal State San Bernardino (1-7-23). Had 10 points, five rebounds and a career-high four steals in a 75-63 win over Sonoma State in a California Collegiate Athletic Association Tournament game (3-2-23). Reached double figures in scoring eight times. For her career, appeared in 83 games with six starts. Played a total of 1,451 minutes. Averaged 5.0 points, 2.1 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game.

2021-22: Showed great improvement in her second season on the court for the Golden Eagles. Appeared in 26 games and played a total of 365 minutes. Averaged 4.8 points and 1.9 rebounds per game. Poured in a career-high 23 points and had five rebounds in 25 minutes in a 90-69 win over Cal Poly Pomona (2-10-22). Was 7-of-10 from the floor, including 3-of-4 from 3-point range. Also hit 6-of-7 free throws. Had a career-high nine rebounds to go along with 14 points and a season-high four assists in a season-high 31 minutes of an 86-41 win over San Francisco State (1-29-22). Reached double figures in scoring three times.

2020-21: Earned California Collegiate Athletic Association 2020-21 Winter Academic Honor Roll recognition. Was on the roster, but team did not compete due to COVID-19.

2019-20: Had a promising season for the Golden Eagles in her first year with the program. Appeared in 27 games and started twice. Played a total of 437 minutes. Averaged 4.1 points, 1.7 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game. Was fourth on the team in assists. Made her Cal State LA debut and had two points and two rebounds in 15 minutes of a 72-67 win at Biola (11-8-19). Made her first start and had nine points and three assists in 24 minutes at UC San Diego (2-15-20). Also got a start and scored nine points with a season-high six assists in a season-high 31 minutes of a 73-63 win over Cal State San Bernardino (2-20-20). Scored a season-high 13 points to go along with three assists and three steals in a 78-77 win at Simon Fraser (11-17-19). Reached double figures in scoring three times. Had a season-high four rebounds in four games. Received 2019-20 CCAA All-Academic honors.

At Christian High School: Was the No. 2 ranked player in San Diego County Class of 2019. Earned third-team All-CIF and second-team All-League honors. Was an All-Star Most Valuable Player and a member of the All-Academic team.

Personal: Daughter of Wayne Smith and Venette Melo. Majoring in finance. Enjoys learning new things, trying new things and golf. Lists winning as her most exciting experience in sports.
