LOS ANGELES – Cal State L.A.'s women's basketball team turned in another strong first-half performance on Friday and this time, the Golden Eagles kept it rolling for the entire game.

The Golden Eagles raced out to a 40-27 halftime lead and went on to a 79-59 California Collegiate Athletic Association victory over San Francisco State in the Eagles Nest. Cal State L.A. (10-15, 9-12 CCAA) snapped a seven-game losing streak that included several games where the Golden Eagles had held a lead.

Chiara DiMarco led four players in double figures with 14 points, while Ali Orlich had 13 points. Samantha Lee knocked down three 3-pointers on the way to 12 points and Franeka Hall had an outstanding game with 11 points and 11 rebounds.

San Francisco State (1-24, 1-20 CCAA) got 11 points and five rebounds from Jasmine Flanagan and 11 points and three rebounds from Savannah Camp.

Cal State L.A. clinched seventh place in the conference with the victory. The Golden Eagles were picked to finish eighth by the conference coaches; the top six advance to the next week's CCAA Championship Tournament.

The Golden Eagles shot well in the victory, making 30-of-60 attempts (50 percent), including 9-of-19 from 3-point range. The Gators shot just 28.8 percent (19-of-66), while making 9-of-28 from 3-point range.

Bree Parsons just missed a double-double with nine points and 10 rebounds. Aiwekhoe Okungbowa had nine rebounds to go along with six points.

The Golden Eagles led from start to finish after scoring the first six points of the game on 3-pointers by DiMarco and Lee. A layup by DiMarco gave the Golden Eagles their first double-digit lead, 14-4, and a 3-pointer by Orlich pushed the lead to 19-7. A layup by Kiah Knox gave the Golden Eagles their biggest lead of the first half, 40-25, and Cal State L.A. settled for a 40-27 halftime lead.

San Francisco State opened the second half with a 3-pointer by Camp to make it 40-30, but a basket by Okungbowa and a 3-pointer by Lee extended the lead back to 45-30. A layup by Kaija Powell after a steal by Geena Greene and a 3-pointer by Orlich gave the Golden Eagles their biggest lead of the game, 70-45, with 10 minutes to play.
