Cal State LA Athletics

2023-24: Had another strong season for the Golden Eagles in her second and final year with the program. Appeared in 22 games with one start. Played a total of 179 minutes. Averaged 2.9 points, 1.5 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game. Matched a career high with 14 points in 18 minutes of a 90-77 win at Central Washington (11-14-23). Led the team in scoring in that contest. Also reached double figures with 10 points in just five minutes of an 88-42 win over San Francisco State (2-8-24). Had a season-high five assists to go with six points in a 79-75 win at Azusa Pacific (11-21-23). Had a season-high four rebounds three times. Hit all 10 of her free-throws during the season. For her career, appeared in 51 games with five starts. Averaged 3.3 points, 1.8 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game.

2022-23: Had a productive season for the Golden Eagles in her first year with the program. Appeared in 29 games with four starts. Played a total of 451 minutes. Averaged 3.5 points, 2.0 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game. Was fourth on the team in assists. Made her Cal State LA debut and got her first start in an 81-74 win at Concordia (11-11-22). Had four points and four assists in 21 minutes. Had 13 points and hit five-of-six from the floor in a 69-49 win over Biola (11-12-23). Scored a season-high 14 points and had four assists at Cal State San Marcos (1-1-23). Had eight points and a season-high six rebounds against Azusa Pacific (11-15-22). Had three points and a season-high six assists in an 81-69 win over Chico State (2-11-23). Played a season-high 28 points in a California Collegiate Athletic Association Tournament game against Cal State San Marcos (3-3-23). Reached double figures in scoring twice. Earned CCAA Winter Academic Honor Roll recognition. 

At Moorpark College: Earned first-team All-State honors and All-Western State Conference honors. Earned a Scholar-Athlete award and was the team’s Most Valuable Player. Also earned Mon-Dak All-Conference honors as a freshman at Dawson Community College.

At Bishop Alemany High School: Was the team’s Most Valuable Player and Most Valuable Offensive Player.

Personal: Daughter of Maria Mendez. Majoring in criminal justice. Enjoys building puzzles, listening to music, going on hikes and watching Criminal Minds. Lists the friendships built throughout her career as her most exciting experience in sports. Notes she has a brother and sister, who are both older. Says she’s an aunt to two boys.
