2010: Competed well for the Golden Eagles in his final year with the program. Had best times of 2:10.24 in the 800 meters, 4:21.47 in the 1,500 and 17:40.31 in the 5,000. Placed 12th in the California Collegiate Athletic Association Championships in the 1,500. For his career, had best marks of 2:09.24 in the 800, 4:21.47 in the 1,500, 9:57.22 in the 3,000 and 17:40.31 in the 5,000.

2009: Ran well for the Golden Eagles in his first season of competition. Had best times of 2:09.24 in the 800 meters, 4:25.05 in the 1,500 and 9:57.22 in the 3,000. Competed in the 800 and 1,500 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association championships.

2008: Attended Cal State L.A. but did not compete for the Golden Eagles.

At Northview HS: Competed in cross country and track and field. Was named the Most Valuable Athlete, won the Coach’s Award and the Best Work Ethic Award. Earned an All-League award and a Silver Academic Award. Was a third-place finisher in track in the 800 meters. Team won three CIF championships and three league titles in cross country.

Personal: Son of Damacio and Romelia Arevalos. Majoring in mechanical engineering. Enjoys rock music, guitar, mechanics and seeking cultural roots. Lists going to Big Bear every year in cross country for four years, building a strong team and traveling to different places to run, especially outside the country, as his most exciting experiences in sports. Says his nickname is “campa.”
