Cal State LA Athletics

2020: Was on the roster for the cross country team in the fall, but team did not compete due to COVID-19 in his final year with the program.

2019: Competed for Cal State LA’s cross country program in the fall. Ran in seven races and was a consistent part of the team’s top-five. Finished third on the team at the California Collegiate Athletic Association Championships with a 64^th-place finish and a time of 27:33.56 over 8,000 meters. Finished 152^nd at the NCAA West Region Championships and was fifth on the team with a time of 33:28.0 over 10,000 meters. Also competed for Cal State LA’s track and field team in the shortened season (2020). Had best times of 4:29.56 in the 1,500 meters and 9:26.11 in the 3,000.

At California High School: Finished seventh in the state. Competed in cross country and track and field.

Personal: Son of Gilbert and Michelle Espinoza. Majoring in criminalistics. Enjoys drawing, playing games and listening to music. Lists breaking the 15-minute barrier in a three-mile race in Irvine as his most exciting experience in sports.
