Summary

Biography

2009: Had a tremendous season for the Golden Eagles in her final year with the program. Appeared in 22 games and started all of them. Played a total of 1,436 minutes. Had one goal and six assists for eight points. Earned All-America honorable mention from Daktronics. Also earned first-team All-West Region honors from Daktronics and third-team All-Region honors from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America. Was named the California Collegiate Athletic Association's Most Valuable Defensive Player and earned first-team All-CCAA honors. Also named to the CCAA All-Tournament team. Scored the team's first goal of the season in a 4-0 win over Central Washington on Aug. 27. Had two assists in a 9-0 win over Academy of Art on Sept. 5. Had her first assist of the season in a 3-0 win over Hawaii-Hilo on Sept. 2. For her career, appeared in 81 games with 77 starts. Played a total of 5,613 minutes. Had four goals and nine assists for 17 points. FInshed her career No. 3 on the program's all-time list for minutes played.

2008: Was injured and did not compete for the Golden Eagles. Received a medical redshirt.
 
2007: Was a key and steady player for the Golden Eagles in her third season with the program. Appeared in 22 games and started 20 times. Picked up an assist on the game-winning goal in the second half of a 2-1 victory over Cal State San Marcos on Aug. 29. Started 20 of the Golden Eagles’ final 21 games, including all five of Cal State L.A.’s postseason contests.
 
2006: Had a second consecutive strong year for the Golden Eagles. Started all 19 games for Cal State L.A. Had two goals and two assists for six points. Scored her first goal of the season – the game-winner – in a 2-1 victory at Humboldt State on Sept. 8. Also had the lone goal in a 1-1 tie at Cal State Monterey Bay on Oct. 1. Picked up her first point of the season with an assist in a 2-0 win over Seattle Pacific on Sept. 1 and also had an assist in a 2-1 loss at Cal State Bakersfield on Oct. 4.
2005: Made a solid debut for the Golden Eagles in her first season. Appeared in 18 games and started 16 times. Scored one goal and had two points. Got the first goal of her Cal State L.A. career in a 3-0 win over Concordia on Aug. 29. Made her first appearance and start for the Golden Eagles against Vanguard on Aug. 25.
At Archbishop Mitty High School: Competed in soccer, cross country and track and field.
 
Personal: Daughter of James and Grace Matthews. Majoring in geology. Enjoys camping. Lists having awesome teammates as her most exciting experience in sports.
