Cal State LA Athletics

2025: Had a promising first season for the Golden Eagles with Cal State LA’s indoor team. Appeared in 20 matches and 65 sets. Had 41 kills, five assists, six aces, 35 blocks and 11 digs. Was fourth on the team in blocks. Made her Cal State LA debut and had two kills and four blocks in a five-set win at Chaminade on Sept. 4. Had a season-high seven kills and hit .600 against Cal State Dominguez Hills on Oct. 25. Had a season-high eight blocks and two kills in a five-set win over Cal State San Bernardino on Sept. 26. Had five kills, three aces and five blocks for a season-high 11 points in a four-set win at Cal State San Marcos on Oct. 2.

At Portola High School: Earned first-team All-League honors and was the league’s Most Valuable Player as a senior. Earned second-team All-League honors as a sophomore and junior. Set career school records for most sets played, most kills, most blocks and most aces as well as school single-season records for most kills and most blocks. Earned Coaches Award and Captains Award.

Personal: Daughter of Francisco Alvarado and Rosana Rivera. Majoring in Forensics. Enjoys coaching. Lists winning league in high school as her most exciting experience in sports. Notes she played volleyball in Puerto Rico and then moved to California and played at club A4 for nine years, reaching nationals each year.
