Cal State LA Athletics

At Cal State L.A.: Earned second-team All-California Collegiate Athletic Association honors in track and field in 2007 after finishing second in the 10,000 meters with a time of 36:57.30. Has been a top runner on the Cal State L.A. cross country team for the past two years. Earned All-CCAA honors for the second straight year in 2007 after finishing fifth in the conference championships and helping the Golden Eagles to the team title. Also earned All-West Region honors after finishing 10^th and helping the Golden Eagles to a second-place team finish. Placed 51^st in the nation and helped the Golden Eagles finish fifth as a team. Was named the CCAA Newcomer of the Year after finishing 13^th in the conference finals and earning All-CCAA honors in 2006. Also finished 25^th in the NCAA Division II West Regional and was the No. 4 runner on the Golden Eagle championship team. Also placed 61^st in the national championships and was the No. 5 runner on the Golden Eagles’ team that finished fourth in the nation.

 

At Glendale College: Was the Most Valuable Runner for the cross country team for two seasons, earned second-team All-Conference honors in cross country. Earned All-Conference honors in track and field in the 5,000 and 10,000 meters. Cross country team won a conference championship. Was a team captain for both cross country and track and field teams.

 

Personal: Daughter of Anastacio Cespedes. Majoring in child development. Enjoys running, movies and hanging out with friends. Lists traveling to different places and going to nationals as her most exciting experiences in sports.
