Summary

Biography

At Cal State L.A.: Earned All-America honors in cross country in the fall after finishing 24th in the nation in the NCAA Division II Championships. Was the team’s No. 1 runner at nationals and helped the team to a fifth-place national finish. Also earned All-CCAA honors by finishing sixth in the conference while helping the Golden Eagles to a team conference title. Also picked up All-West Region honors by placing 11th and helping the team to a second-place finish. Earned second-team All-CCAA honors in track in 2007 after finishing second in the 3,000 steeplechase with a time of 11:05.34. Qualified for the nationals in the steeplechase and ran in the prelims. Earned All-CCAA cross country honors in 2006 by finishing 10th in the conference finals and helping the team to a second-place finish. Took 26th in the NCAA Division II West Regional and was the fifth-scoring member, helping the Golden Eagles to the team championship. Placed 39th in the nation at the NCAA Division II National Championships and helped the team to a fourth-place national finish.
 
At Santa Barbara City College: Inducted into the school’s Hall of Fame.
 
At San Marcos HS:
Personal: Daughter of Daniel James Burger and Virginia Lee Thomas. Majoring in fire science. Enjoys triathlons. Lists winning the NCAA Division II West Region team championship and qualifying for nationals on the day of her birthday in 2006 as her most exciting experiences in sports.
