Cal State LA Athletics

2024-25: Was a big part of the team once again in her second and final year with the program. Posted results in 12 singles matches, including nine in dual matches. Had results in 13 doubles contests, including 10 in dual matches. Went 0-6 in matches at No. 4 singles and 0-3 at No. 6 singles. Was 0-7 in doubles with Lea Rolland with five matches at No. 3 doubles and one decision at No. 2 doubles. Was also 0-2 at No. 3 doubles with partner Charlotte Downs and 0-2 with Courtlyn Lam. Earned a 2024-25 D2 Athletic Directors Academic Achievement Award and 2024-25 Academic All-Pacific West Conference honors. For her career, had a 1-25 record in singles and a 0-14 record in doubles.

2023-24: Made immediate contributions for the Golden Eagles in her first year with the program. Competed in 13 singles matches, including 11 in dual matches, all at No. 6 singles. Had a 1-12 overall record and a 1-10 mark in dual matches. Also played in one doubles match, pairing with Lea Rolland at the ITA Fall Regional. Picked up a point for the Golden Eagles with a win at No. 6 singles against Chaminade on March 28. An outstanding student, earned a 2023-24 ITA Scholar-Athlete award from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association and was instrumental in Cal State LA earning an ITA All-Academic Team award. Also earned 2023-24 Academic All-PacWest Conference honors.

At San Marcos High School: Was voted her team’s Most Valuable Player by her teammates all four years in high school. Received the team’s “Bagel Award” for having the most 6-0 set victories twice. Earned All-County honors during her sophomore season. Graduated from high school as an Honor Roll student with a 4.0 cumulative grade point average.

Personal: Daughter of Shawn and Julie Roybal. Majoring in Kinesiology. Enjoys hiking, going to the beach and cooking. Lists having the opportunity to travel with her teammates as her most exciting experience in sports.
