Cal State LA Athletics

2024: Joined Cal State LA’s cross country program in the fall and was the team’s No. 1 runner for all five races he competed in. Had a best 8,000-meter time of 25:04.8 at the Biola Invitational. Finished 32^nd at the California Collegiate Athletic Association Championships with a time of 25:24.3 over 8,000 meters.

At Glendale Community College: Earned the team’s cross country MVP award in 2023 and was a CCCAA Cross Country All-American. Had best times of 4:01 in the 1,500 and 1:54 in the 800.

At Birmingham Community HS: Earned the team’s MVP award and was a state individual qualifier in cross country. Had best times of 4:37 in the 1,600 and 2:05 in the 800.

Personal: Son of Giovanni and Marta Soto. Majoring in engineering technology. Enjoys watching movies, playing video games and soccer. Lists qualifying for state in high school, becoming an All-American in junior college cross country and running a 1:54 PR in the 800 as his most exciting experiences in sports.
