Biography

2023: Was on the roster, but did not compete for the Golden Eagles in her final year with the program. Earned a 2023-24 D2 Athletic Directors Association Academic Achievement Award. For her career, appeared in 17 games with seven starts. Played a total of 895 minutes. Had a 1-7-1 record with a 1.21 goals against average. Made 30 saves and had a saves percentage of .714.

2022: Was a contributor once again for the Golden Eagles in her second season with the program. Made three appearances, including one start. Played a total of 135 minute. Made five saves and had a goals against average of 0.67. Had a save percentage of .833. Made her season debut and got the start in a 1-0 loss against Azusa Pacific on Sept. 1. Played the second half and didn’t allow a goal while making three saves in a 2-2 tie against Simon Fraser on Sept. 10. Made one save and didn’t allow a goal in the second half of a 2-0 loss to Point Loma on Sept. 17. Earned 2022 California Collegiate Athletic Association Fall Academic Honor Roll recognition. For her career, appeared in 17 games with seven starts. Played a total of 895 minutes. Made 30 saves and had a save percentage of .714. Allowed 12 goals and had a goals against average of 1.21.

2021: Had an impressive first season with the Golden Eagles. Appeared in 14 games with six starts. Played a total of 760 minutes. Made 25 saves and had a save percentage of .694. Had a goals against average of 1.30. Had four combined shutouts. Made her Cal State LA debut at Point Loma on Sept. 9 and played the second half. Made one save while allowing no goals. Got her first start at Biola on Sept. 14 and made two saves. Had her first combined shutout in a 0-0 tie at San Francisco State on Oct. 1. Played the second half and both overtime periods. Played the first half and made a season-high four saves in a 1-0 win over Cal State San Marcos on Oct. 14 and received her first career win. Played the second half and made three saves in a 1-0 win at Cal State San Bernardino on Oct. 17. Got the start and made three saves in the first half of a 1-0 win over Humboldt State on Oct. 31. Played the second half and overtimes and didn’t allow a goal in a 1-1 tie at San Francisco State in a first-round CCAA Tournament game on Nov. 7. Got the start and played the entire game against Sonoma State in a CCAA Tournament semifinal on Nov. 12. Made one save. Earned 2021-22 CCAA All-Academic honors.

2020: Earned 2020-21 CCAA All-Academic honors in her first year with the program. Team did not compete due to COVID-19.

At Westview High School: Played on the varsity team for three seasons. Was on the school’s Honor Roll for all four years and was on the San Diego Union-Tribune All-Academic Team for two years. Competed in soccer and badminton.

Personal: Daughter of Robert and Heidi Spanish. Majoring in applied mathematics. Enjoys going to the beach and concerts, collecting vinyl records, playing with her dog, Moose, and going on road trips. Lists playing in Sweden in the Gothia Cup in 2018 as her most exciting experience in sports.
