Summary

Biography

2022-23: Had her best season for the Golden Eagles in her final year with the program. Showed tremendous improvement in her final season. Competed in nine tournaments and had an average score of 79.50, more than two shots better than her previous best. Was fourth on the team in scoring. Had the team’s best opening round in the California Collegiate Athletic Association Championships. Finished in a tie for 11th after scores of 75-78-81 for a total of 234. Shot a career-best round of 72 in the opening round of the Nick Turner Invitational on Oct. 17-18. Also shot her new 36-hole best of 151. Shot 10 rounds under 80 during the season. Earned Women’s Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholar honors for a third time. Also earned Academic All-District honors from the College Sports Communicators for the first time. Earned a 2022-23 D2 Athletic Directors Association Academic Achievement Award. Also earned 2022-23 CCAA All-Academic honors and 2023 CCAA Spring Academic Honor Roll recognition. For her career, competed in 24 tournaments and a total of 50 rounds. Had a scoring average of 81.08.

2021-22: Was a key part of the team and one of the most consistent golfers in the program. Competed in nine tournaments and had an average score of 81.60. Had the fifth-best scoring average on the team. Was steady for all three days of the CCAA Championships, firing rounds of 81-81-80 for a total of 242 to help the Golden Eagles to a second-place finish. Finished 21st in the field. Shot a season-low round of 77 on the final day of the RJGA Palm Valley Classic on April 1 to finish with a season-low 36-hole total of 157. Shot three rounds under 80 during the season and had 12 rounds between 77-81. All seven of her 36-hole totals were between 157-165. Earned 2021-22 CCAA All-Academic honors and 2022 CCAA Spring Academic Honor Roll recognition. Also earned Women’s Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholar honors for a second time.

2020-21: Earned 2020-21 CCAA All-Academic honors and also received 2021 CCAA Spring Academic Honor Roll recognition. Team did not compete due to COVID-19.

2019-20: Had an outstanding first season with the Golden Eagles before it was halted. Was extremely consistent in three spring tournaments with all rounds between 80 and 83 and 36-hole totals between 161-163. Was fourth on the team with a scoring average of 82.58 over six tournaments. Shot her low round of 79 in the opening round of the RJGA Shootout at Estrella on Sept. 23. Matched her low 36-hole total of 161 and finished 20th at the Point Loma Sea Lion Invitational on Feb. 3-4. Had rounds of 81 and 82 for a total of 163 at the Fujikama Invitational on March 9. Earned WGCA All-American Scholar recognition. Also earned 2019-20 CCAA All-Academic honors. Made the Dean’s List both semesters in the 2019-20 academic year.

At Santiago High School: Was the individual league champion and team Most Valuable Player as a senior. Set a school record for lowest 18-hole score with a round of 72. Earned first-team All-Inland Area honors. Was the team MVP and earned second-team All-Inland Area honors as a junior. Team won a league championship in both her freshman and sophomore years. Was the team’s Rookie of the Year as a freshman.

Personal: Daughter of Scott and Izumi Wang. Majoring in biology. Enjoys reading, working out, hiking, trying new cuisines and watching F1. Lists getting second place in the CCAA Championships and watching Morgan Sjoerdsma win the individual title on the 18th green as her most exciting experiences in sports. Notes she is still a certified plant mom.
